Well- This was William's face most of Halloween!

He had a blast people watching during the parade and trick-or-treating at all the stores on Washington Street. We did get a few smiles later when we were not around too many people and when it was a bit calmer! But, we just love this picture below. We can't stop laughing when we look at it!

........and this is W's favorite toy lately-a Phone!

Go figure. He pushes the buttons and then puts the phone to his ear and says *"Heyyyyyy!" It's too cute and he loves it. He will spend forever mumbling into the phone walking around the apartment. I would love to be able to decode what exactly he is saying.

Here is a sneak peak of Angie's wonderful work!

We had a blast at Botanical Gardens taking W's one year pictures. I think my parents, Dee Dee and Papa, had as much fun playing as William did! We can't wait to see the rest of the photos! (These are just in the first 15 minutes!!) Angie does such great work!!! We are more than pleased with the few we have seen! We will be overwhelmed when we get to see them all!!!

William had a great first birthday!

We had our family over to celebrate at my parents house in Birmingham. We had good food, great cake and bunches of fun! William was overwhelmed with all the people and new goodies! He is such an amazing baby and I can't believe it's been a year since we first held him in our arms! We thank God everyday for blessing us with a happy and healthy child! Oh- and we can now sleep through the night! Another little blessing we are very thankful for!

At William's one year check up he weighed 24½ pounds and I can't remember his height off the top of my head and I left the sheet at my parents house in Birmingham. But, he is in the 75% for weight and 100% for height! So, he is just perfect :) And, finally we are caught up on shots! That is a great feeling!!!

After all the rain we had this week this looked like the perfect option for a Saturday morning!

So we packed up our little family and headed to Abma's Farm. They had a Hayride, Pumpkin Patch, Petting Zoo, yummy Market and much more! We had a blast and the beautiful Fall weather made for a perfect day!

Last weekend a picture of our 7:30 am park date! Justin and William had a blast together! William just loves the park and he is a little mover now! First Hair Cut

Today W is 11 months old and we got his first hair cut! We had a great experience at Doodle Doos in NY. He looks just adorable as well.

The Park

Well, we are loving living in Hoboken! William is especially loving our daily trips to the park. We are meeting lots of nice people and adorable children. But, it is extremely difficult to get a good picture of him now that he is on the move.

On another note, while we were in Birmingham last week we went to visit Dr. Corti. William is doing great! He is 31 inches long (100%) weighs 23 pounds 9½ ounces (75%). The only area we are in need of help on is sleep! He takes great naps and goes to bed extremely easy. But, we still haven't slept through the night at almost 11 months. Hopefully now that we are settled in our new home (somewhat) and William has his own room we can all get a full nights rest.

A busy couple of weeks.....

I thought I would add a few pictures of our growing little man. It is so hard to believe that he is ten months old and we are beginning to plan his first birthday party, buying shoes, eating pretty much what we eat, jabbering up a storm, laughing constantly, clapping, waving and sleeping a little better.. It truly is a great time! Oh, we are also still teething according to the doctor it looks like his two top teeth are getting ready to make an appearance. Over the past couple weeks we have moved into our apartment and we are still surrounded by boxes. We decided the moving to Hoboken, NJ would be best for our family. It is amazing what a different environment it is being a 15 minute PATH ride out from the city. (or 10 or so by car depending on traffic). Lots more to come soon! This is just a peak at the past two or three weeks.......

Well, we are officially state side again. We are now living in New York City and will be moving to Hoboken on Sept. 1st. Life sure has been busy and we sure have been blessed many times over. After many weeks of looking, we have finally found a great apartment.

It sure has been a busy month and a half in the city. But, the most important thing in our life and the one that keeps us the busiest is, William. He is now 10 months a growing like a weed. He loves music and anything he can get to make noise, he loves to walk with his little walkers, he loves bath time and taking evening walks with mom and dad. But, one of his favorite things is reading his touchy feely books. He loves the series: That is not my ______. By Fiona Watt. It is an adorable series and he just loves all of them!!! He is jabbering up a storm the only words we are sure of right now are Momma and Dada. But, he looks like everything else he is saying is very important. He is still using his pointer finger to touch everything and to talk to us with while he is jabbering. He is laughing all the time (which is such an amazing sound) and really using his hands to figure things out.

The only down fall to all his growing is teething. We have our two bottom teeth and hopefully the rest will take a break before they come in. He was such an unhappy camper during the past three weeks and we just felt so bad for him:)

There is so much more but, William is waking up from his nap. So here are just a few pictures of lately!

Big Ed's is one of our favorite pizza places in Oak Ridge Tennessee! It is a must every time we visit Justin's family. This trip William got his first shirt! He also ate some of the crust and it looks like he is a fan as well!!

Crawling!

William started to crawl! On June 23rd, William learned that reverse wasn't the only way to go! William has been crawling backward since early May. So for over a month, he has been watching his toys get further and further away. Until last Wednesday, when he started to crawl forward! He is on the move and is loving it! Hopefully I can get a video soon that is Blog worthy!!! We are so proud of our little man and his newest accomplishment! Now we have to get to baby proofing :)

We are truly a blessed little family of three! On June 20th, William was Baptized. It was such a wonderful and special morning and William was amazing during the Baptism. Below are just a few pictures from that day that I love! Sadly with all the chaos Justin, William and I did not get one picture together! So, If you got one please send it our way!!! But, we got many of him with his wonderful Godparents (Joseph and Amy) and in his amazing gown (made by DeDe)!

William is having a blast in the states!

He is loving playing at his Deedee and Poppa's! He loves showing off his new skills:) He is sitting up wonderfully now and moving all around! He is also talking up a storm. He has mastered "momma", "dadda", "bye-bye", beginning to say "deedee" and "poppa". They are great encourager's for this:) It is amazing how much they can move before they can crawl! He is all over the floor and we are already having to kid proof a bunch... at least whatever is behind him:)

We are also loving the warm weather and swimming in our Hippo Pool!

The best for last! This book is amazing! I don't know how my mom finds these things but, it is a water proof, tear proof, indestructible book! So far, 24 hours in and it is still in good shape and he is really into tearing paper these days:) It's pretty impressive!!!

We have been very busy in Birmingham! We have had play dates with our cousins, recitals, skyped, gifts from Papa, corn and trips to the ZOO!!!!

William is having a blast and loving all of it!!

7 Months

Oh my! Time flies by! Well, it is hard to believe that William is 7 months old. He is so amazing and doing so many new things every day. He is sitting up great, smiling and laughing constantly, saying momma and bye bye, loving the water and eating everything in sight. We are finally sleeping most of the night! YAY! This is a huge deal for Justin and me:) We are just so so thankful for such a loving, sweet and healthy little boy! God truly is amazing!

Also, he got his first ear infection. Nothing is worse than listening to a little baby cough and runny nose. It is so sad to see him under the weather. But, medicine in he is feeling much better! He should be back to his old self in no time :)

We're Back!

We have been a busy little family. We have been traveling for a month solid and have finally landed in Birmingham! We started out in California, headed to Hawaii, up to Knoxville and now are safe and sound in Birmingham. Sorry for the long post. We have a lot to share :)

Also, William went to the doctor yesterday and is weighing in at 20 lbs and 14 oz and is 29 1/2 inched long. He is doing great and is a very happy little baby!!!

We were so lucky to have daddy join us for sensory this week! William had a great time as always and I think Justin did too!!!

I know the video is a little dark but, when you can catch your baby laughing you go for it! Plus the sound is priceless! He was having the time of his life with his daddy! He chuckled for about 30 minutes. He only stopped because he gave himself the hiccups:)

This video cracks me up. William is talking up a storm! He loves just looking at himself in the mirror and chatting it up. Every time I try to catch him he stops and just looks at the camera. So, this is the best I could get! But, he will talk to himself for hours! He just chats and giggles up a storm! We are truly enjoying every minute with him!

Food and Feet

Well, today we started William on rice porridge. It is very exciting because he has been watching us eat like a hawk. He is ready to be eating with us. I don't think he had any idea what to expect. But, here goes....

I think he was in shock that we were finally giving him some food!!!

5 Months Old

It is hard to believe our little boy is 5 months old today! He is so incredible! He is loving tummy time, his thumb, his feet, talking (babbling), giggling, making spit bubbles, and is truly entertained by his mommy and daddy.

Our home nurse, Sessa, also stopped by for a quick weigh and visit with William. He just loves her and smiles at her non-stop while she is here. She gave great advice today and I am excited about things to come.....

William is weighing in at 7850 kg and measuring at 70 cm long. So, he is a little over 17 pounds and 27½ inches. He is getting to start some food this month and we are very excited about it! I am sure we will have many pictures to share of that exciting time soon:)

From the Freezing COLD!!!!

We walk everywhere in Denmark.... So, I am ready for weather above 30 degrees to say the least. But, it is pretty. Here are the lakes in Copenhagen. They have been frozen over since we got back in January. The are on our walk to our sensory class. I just had to snag a picture!

Here is a picture of all the prams outside sensory class. There are no babies in these prams but if you pass a restaurant and prams are outside lined up...... there are more than likely babies sleeping inside. I have let William sleep outside once and he took the best nap ever! It was amazing. But, that was on a friends patio with us watching the pram closely. I haven't been brave enough to leave him outside of a store, restaurant, etc.... just yet.

But, the are very warm inside their little prams. William has on a snow suit (one of many pictured below) his duvet from his bed, a wind cover and rain cover more days than not. He travels in his own little bed that is nice and cozy for him. My mom and dad gave us a monitor that we keep in the pram with William and inside the pram it has never gotten below 60 degrees. So, that is 30 degrees warmer than outside. Not too bad:)

The sun finally decided to come out in DK! Don't get me wrong it is still freezing, but sunny. Since the sun showed its lovely face, we decided to take William for a walk in the Bjorn. Thanks to my parents William was able to protect his eyes... We love the shades and can't wait to use them in Hawaii!!!!!

Baby Bio

Today, William and I, went for our second Baby Bio date with my friend, Kim, and her son, Liam. Baby Bio is something done one day a week at every theatre in Copenhagen. It is a day where they let moms and babies come in and take over the movie theatre. It is absolute chaos! But, tons of fun. You walk into the movie theatre and it is wall to wall prams. Half are sleeping half are screaming. Most Danish women leave their babies in the lobby if they are sleeping because an attendant will come get you when your child wakes up, I have not left William yet! The theatre has blankets and toys everywhere. In Danish theaters, you have assigned seats, so couches in the back with extended aisle's are the hot ticket seats. The have the sound turned down low and the lights are dimmed. It really is a great experience for new mommies! It is so funny to see all the babies talking, playing, screaming, etc... It is just so nice to be able to get out and go see a movie with a friend in such a baby friendly environment. I will try to take pictures next time if I remember.

I am so thankful for my wonderful mom. She is so caring, loving, supportive and giving. She just spent 10 days with us in DK. We are finally caught up on laundry!!! That is a huge battle we have been trying to win for 4 months..... We also ate wonderfully and got some sleep!!! Who knew how much a little help could do for the body and sanity. William had a great time playing,loving on and getting to know my mom! We are so thankful that she took the time to come to DK and help us! I hope I can be half the mom she is!!!! We love you and miss you already!!!

This past weekend we went on a quick trip to Barcelona with my mom. Justin and I love Barcelona and were so happy to take mom their while she came over to visit and help us with William. (Which is fantastic!) Here are just a few highlights of our adventure!

William has a very busy social calendar on Wednesday. We have sensory class in the morning and we go swimming in the afternoon. Needless to say we "should" sleep good on Wednesday nights- but we'll see.

William had a big show for my mom when she arrived! He rolled over for the first time! He has belly to back down and he seems in no hurry to go the other way. We were thrilled! It's hard to believe all the new things happening every day!

4 months!

William turned four months yesterday! It is hard to believe my baby boy is already 4 months old. Time really does fly by! He is loving tummy time, making all sorts of noises, giggling, swimming, putting anything and everything in his mouth (esp his giraffe blanket). I am so blessed to have the opportunity to spend the first year with William because something new and exciting is happening every day! I just can't believe how much he has grown in 4 months! I also attached a picture of his hair! He is finally getting more on the back of his head and he is loosing topper!

I just think this picture is too sweet of our little man!

We FINALLY met our new home nurse, Sessa, today! It was so great to finally have her come meet William and talk with me about some questions and problems we have been having. She was so great! We chatted for an hour and a half and William just LOVED her. Everything looked great with William he is 7.55 kg and 66 cm. So, for all us Americans, that is 16½ pounds and 26 inches. So he is a growing boy! She did let me know that breastfed babies usually taper off their weight gain around 4 months. So, he should level out for awhile. Here are two pictures William getting weighed today. The tools they use just crack me up! (What ever happened to a scale?)

He doesn't seem to mind it though.:)

William is finally enjoying his bed during the day! Which is a HUGE deal to us. Here is a picture of William waking up from his nap enjoying some of his crib toys.

A Busy Week.....

This week was a very exciting week! William is finally enjoying tummy time. It is amazing how much he likes it now that he can hold his head up for a few seconds. We took tons of pictures of tummy time this week yet; in all the pictures William's hair is still stealing the show.

Also, this week, William had his first swim lessons. Here is his little speedo. I guess all trends in Europe start early. His little chunky body is too cute in his swim suit!

Here is a picture of William patiently waiting while mom is following all the procedures before we can get in the pool. Before you swim you must shower (completely nude), then get dressed! With a 3 month old I was nervous about the process and how he would handle being in the locker room. But, he loved it! Go figure.

Here is a picture of William getting ready in the babies locker room! It was nice and toasty in there. He really enjoyed it!

We finally made it in the water. We could not take to many photos this time because we had to both be in the water! But, I think we have a water baby! He loved it! We will post some action photos next time!!!!!

It was just too much fun! We can't wait to go back next week!

A Swedish Wedding

This past weekend we traveled to Ystad, Sweden for our good friends, Jason and Åsa's wedding. We had a wonderful time experiencing a Swedish wedding.

3 Months!!

It is so hard to believe that 3 months have passed! It seems like yesterday we were at the hospital meeting Little William and now he is growing so quickly! He has made our lives!!!!

I am a little late posting for his 3 months because, it has been an eventful 3 months! We were sad to leave the states but we are happy to be home. We are all suffering from jet lag pretty bad this trip.... If you think jet lag is bad for an adult try it with a 3 month old! We are keeping our fingers crossed because last night he slept 6 hours straight and then another 4½ hours. Hopefully this is a sign of whats to come!

I couldn't resist! I love this hat that my mom gave William!!! He ended up falling asleep about 10 seconds after this picture and he took a great nap in the hat!

This was 3 days before William was 3 months old, but I love this picture! He looks so grown up in his overalls!

A Few First....

Our Family is Growing!

We have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. First, we have an amazing son that is making our lives, good health, a supportive family, great friends, and good jobs.

Then our family is growing so much.

My cousin Ben got engaged to his sweet girlfriend, Kathryn and my cousin Katie got engaged to an awesome man, Billy. Then, this past weekend my brother got engaged to his oh so sweet girlfriend, Emily. We are so happy for them and are so excited to welcome Emily and her little family to join our family.

We truly are blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

First of all we have so much to be thankful for this year it is hard to find where to start. We have good health, a beautiful son, great jobs and supportive family and friends. What more could you ask for:)

Today we had our own little Thanksgiving feast. We had a turkey breast, dressing, green beans and more but, it still wasn't the same without our families. We loved being our little family of three for our first holiday together. I will say it was very nice for us to not worry about running around from here to there!

Also today we took William to the doctor. He is now 5.2 kilo and 59 cm long. For us Americans that is around 11½ pounds and 23 inches. He sure is growing fast! We are very thankful for our healthy baby boy who is a true gift from God! We love him so much and can't imagine our lives with out him.

We can't wait for everyone at home to meet him.

We are all smiles these days!

This week William went to feed the ducks for the first time. We think he had a great time! I say think because he slept the entire time. He sure does love being in the Baby Bjorn!

William is doing great! Still a little stuffy from his cold but doing much better. Today we had our second visit with our home nurse, Bente. She said he is a very healthy little boy and it is obvious he likes to eat! I guess that is because he gained a good amount of weight in the past two weeks. Well to be more specific, he gained almost double what he should! Which to me I did not know if I should be worried or not. But, Bente was very pleased with the weight gain and said keep up the good work! So now our little man weighs 4Kg 400 to us Americans that is about 9 ½ lbs.

We Survived our First...

Well, we survived our first cold. Poor William, for the past three days he has been coughing, sneezing and could hardly breath. But, with some salt water nasal spray and TLC he is doing much better. Last night he finally could sleep in his own bed for longer than an hour before I had to pick him up and hold him to help him breath. He just sounded so pitiful! It broke my heart! It is just so sad seeing such a tiny baby go through his first cold. But, we survived it!!!! He is doing much better and definitely more active- well as active as a 2 week old can be. Come to find out it is very common for newborns to develop colds, at least here in DK. It might have something to do with the weather or walking everywhere... Who knows! We are just so thankful that our little man is appearing to feel better!!

I added this picture because this is an outfit that Justin bought for William. I think it is just too cute and plus look how grown up our little man looks in this picture!

Justin, William and I loved spending our first Halloween together... Well, William slept most of it! But, what else do you expect from a 2 week old.... We made a night of it and stayed in with my parents and watched a movie.

Here are two pictures from our first visit with home nurse, Bente. I think this is hilarious how she weighed William. But, good news he has gained a little weight and now weighs 3850 grams or for us Americans 8.4 lbs. He is doing great and we are loving every minute with him! We will see Bente again in two weeks for more updates on weight!

William watched his first UT game this weekend! He definitely looked cute in his UT attire! We can't wait to be in the states so we can watch games at normal times and on TV. Instead of through the Internet connected to the TV.

"William" Franklin Walker

Here are some pictures of our little man, William. He arrived Sunday night at 10:34 weighing 8 lbs 1 oz and he was 20 inches long. He is just perfect! We have loved getting to know him and we can't wait for what the future brings.... We are so blessed and overwhelmed right now with how amazing this whole experience is. God is so wonderful!!!! We are just now getting settled in at home and wanted to share just a few pictures from our man's first 3 days in this world.... There will be many, many more to come!!

39 Weeks and No News is good News

Well, Justin and I went for my 39 week appointment today and it was for the most part uneventful. After having some extra test and getting the baby monitored for a half hour everything looks great. Which is the no news is good news part.... Right now our little man is feeling at home and is very comfortable. He is right on target with his weight- a little over 7lbs. He has dropped a little but, it doesn't look like he is making his debut anytime soon- according to our mid-wife. We are getting so anxious to meet our little man. It is hard to believe that we are almost at our Due date. It seemed so far away last February when we found out we were pregnant! We have been preparing for this day to come for 9 months but, it is amazing how quickly is sneaks up on you..... Please keep us in your prayers over the next couple weeks as we start this new chapter in our life...... We will keep you all posted with any news we may have.

Denmark is beautiful! Here is a picture of a sunset that we had last week while we were walking around the city.

So, what could be the most random thing we have stumbled upon in Denmark? Well- the World Cup Archery Semi-Finals! Who would have thought they would be in Denmark...... It is so blooming windy here. But, luckily on the day we passed by it wasn't too windy. Well, for DK standards that is.

Here is a picture of us before our "Big" Date night out before our little man arrives..... Justin treated me to dinner at a wonderful restraunt named, MASH. It stands for Modern American Steak House. It was a delicious meal and it was very nice to spend some quality time together. We have a feeling that our time together is about to change.... Which we can't wait for :)

Baby Walker Update....

Today we are 37 weeks!!!

Which is so exciting that we made it to "full term". Having to stop work early due to contractions we were not sure if we would make it this far. But, WE DID!!! I had my mid wife appointment yesterday and we have no real update. Except everything looks good and they will see me again in two weeks. What she could tell us is that Baby Walker is just over 6 pounds (which who know how she got that number!) and is headed the right direction. But, he has not dropped yet. So, until he drops I or my water breaks he is snug as bug in there. We will keep you all up to date on any progress and we will add a new belly shot this week.

A Baby Shower in DK!

The sign below says, "Congrats It's a Boy" in Dutch. My friend, Danielle, was so kind to host a baby shower at her apartment this past Sunday. I was so overwhelmed with goodies for little Walker, yummy treats and good friends. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to get a job at CIS last year. It led me to meet such amazing people while we are living so far away from home. I can't thank everyone enough for their support and kindness. Having good friends and the great advice while living abroad definitely has helped me (I think Justin too) stay calm during this process......

Here are some recent pictures from our lives in DK. We are so over the moon with excitement to our little man in 35 days. Time has really flown by and it is hard to believe that we are getting ready to meet our little angel.

At my doctors appointment she said things look good (which is great news) and I don't go back for another 2 weeks (even better:))! We will update later with pictures of the pram and baby furniture that is all coming in this week. It is a very exciting time for us.

Go Vols!!!

Well, a game day is quite different across the pond. First, the noon game starts at 6:00. So, I guess we were lucky we had the noon game this week. (At 34 weeks pregnant I was thankful!!) Second, the weather has already changed to late fall weather back home so using our deck was not an option with the rain, wind, and temp. But, we had over a small group of people and tried to have a true “tail gating” experience in Denmark. It was great! Everyone seemed happy and to really enjoy themselves. It was great to have different cultures over. It was fun to hear all their thoughts on chicken wings, rotel, spinach dip, etc...

International Food Festival

Last July, we stumbled upon the International Food Festival and had a blast. So, this year we have been keeping our eyes pealed. Finally it came. Last weekend we had a great time buying some candy, eating some French and Spanish food and watching the people pass by. We are truly enjoying going around town and relaxing while we are anxiously waiting for the arrival of Baby Walker.

Time sure flies! Justin and I are so thrilled that it is getting so close to our due date and that we will shortly be able to meet out little man. This week I went to see the doctor and my mid-wife. Everything looks great with me and the baby. But, we have had some hiccups lately. So, under doctor’s orders I have officially started my maternity leave! It was a good decision and Justin and I feel very comfortable with the decision they made.

This was a beautiful weekend in Copenhagen. The weather was perfect for us to venture to some street markets on Saturday and go to the Little Mermaid’s 96th Birthday Celebration on Sunday. The Birthday celebration was quite interesting. There were 96 young girls swimming in the harbor.

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband! For his birthday present we packed up and headed to Fredriksborg and hung out at the fish camp. The fishing was not all that good because the weather was hot, but the company was great. Our friends Craig, Kate and their adorable son, Sol, came up for a lunch celebration with us. Kate made a wonderful cake. Overall it was a great weekend! We look forward to doing it again soon!

Over the weekend, we took a train over to Sweden. It was a beautiful day and perfect for us to and and explore Malmo. Plus a great opportunity to get out of Copenhagen. We went with the main purpose of continuing our pram/stroller search!! We have tried to explain to everyone that buying a stroller over here is a very difficult process. There are way too many choices that are almost the same and you must order with 6-8 weeks of shipping time. So, we have been in search for months and we decided this was the last weekend we were going to look. Besides the prices being much better in Sweden, I think we were just ready to end the search! Here are just a few pictures from our day.

Our search was well worth it! Just taking a train over to Sweden we saved a couple hundred dollars! So, research in Copenhagen and buying in Sweden was a great plan. I am so happy we waited to purchase our stroller!

Baby Shower

We were so lucky to be able to have a baby shower for this little man while we were home. Being home only a short period of time it is hard to fit everything and everyone in but, my friends and family pulled together and had a wonderful baby shower for our little man. It was so nice to see so many people in one place and to celebrate with us the upcoming member of our family! We got so many amazing gifts for the baby and now we are just getting our apartment ready for the little ones arrival!! The wonderful Hostesses!! They are so great and I miss them all dearly living so far away!

My Aunt Susan is amazing! Look at this beautiful diaper cake! I was so impressed and amazed at her talent! Thank you again Aunt Susan!

I was also lucky enough to see one of my dearest friends Stephanie while she is pregnant and give her little one a gift since I will miss her shower....... She is due two weeks after me! I can't wait for our little man to meet their little lady, Lucy!

It is amazing how clear the ultrasound in the states was compared to the ones we have had in Denmark. While we were in Kingston the Walkers had the family over for a cook out. Since we live so far away this is the last time we would see the family before the baby is here. Every year my mom and dad go above and beyond to have family and friends over for a 4th of July celebration. We had a great time with friends and family in Birmingham for the 4th of July. It truly is a wonderful life! We are so blessed to have traveled around Europe and get to experience all these amazing places. Most recently we went on a surprise trip to Lake Como, Italy. It truly is an amazing place and we would recommend it to anyone traveling to Italy. George Clooney even has a house on Lake Como! Unfortunately- we did not get to see him even though he was on the lake while we were visiting.

23 Weeks and Counting!

Here is just a little belly peek! I'm 23 weeks today! The baby is kicking up a storm and I am feeling great! We are so excited about our trip to the U.S. next Tuesday!

To answer a few questions....

Well first, Thanks you many times over for the sweet e-mails and messages to both Justin and me. We are over the moon and can't wait to meet baby Walker in October. We have both recently been asked some questions about everything so here are just a few quick answers.

Are you having the baby in Denmark? Yes, we are having the baby in Denmark. We are both very fortunate to get great maternity and paternity leave if we continue to stay. So, it just made sense to stay and enjoy this time.

Do you have a doctor or a midwife? Well, I have both a doctor and a midwife. My midwife will be more hands on later in the pregnancy but as of now I have only seen each of them once. Kinda of crazy I know. But, they keep telling me if I feel good the baby is doing good! We have had two scans, with two different midwifes, and everything looked great on both the scans! We are very blessed so far that everything is going so smoothly.

When will we be home with the baby? When are you moving home? We are lucky enough to get great benefits so, hopefully Walker party of three will be home the of December, January and maybe February. As to moving home- not sure! We are just wanting to get the baby here healthy and take things one step at a time. We have extended contracts and we are just waiting for more details.

How far along are you and when can you find out what you are having?
Well, I am 20 weeks and 6 days today! It is flying bye and hard to believe we have crossed the ½ way mark. Also, we found out 2½ weeks ago that we are having a healthy baby_____. We are keeping it a secret just a little longer. We are trying out names right now and enjoying the secret!!!!! It is amazing to feel the baby move and respond to the different names:) We will tell very soon- don't worry:)

Those were the most common questions! We can't wait to see everyone in June and July when we come home for our visit! And- for those who asked.....

So, a few weeks back we had wonderful weather. Now- it's in the 50's and rainy. We are hoping summer did not already pass us bye in DK! But, we did take advantage of the nice weather and went up to a beach in Klampborg and to the amusement park, Bakken, which is the oldest in the world.

That's right! We are having our first baby in October. We are extremely excited and looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us. We will keep you all updated about the Danish Health Care system and being pregnant in a foreign country. It sure has been interesting so far.

Thanksgiving inDenmark

Happy Thanksgiving!!

First, Justin and I are so thankful for all the wonderful things happening in our life. We are truly blessed to have such supportive family and friends as we are experiencing this once and a life time journey together in Denmark. We truly missed being with our family this year, but are thankful that we were able to celebrate this holiday together with friends here in Denmark. We are enjoying our time here but, can't wait to come home on December 19th for awhile. Happy Holidays and we hope everyone had a great Turkey day!

Look at this wonderful turkey Justin prepared for us :) We had all the traditional sides: mac and cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, stuffing and pumpkin pie. First, it was tough enough to find the ingredients needed to begin to tackle this job of cooking Thanksgiving dinner in Denmark. Second, I was the cook. YIKES!

But, it was all wonderful to my surprise.......

Julebryge... aka Christmas Beer

On Friday, Nov. 7th the Julebryge, "Christmas Beer" was given out at 8:59. Most all the bars in Copenhagen had crates of free Christmas beer delivered to the bar. It was a first come first serve basis. So imagine, free beer + expensive city= chaos.

Another Day, Another Castle--- Kronborg Castle

Today was another beautiful day in Denmark! So, Justin and I took an hour train ride north of CPH to Helsingor to visit the Kronborg Castle. It is said to be the castle that Shakespeare based the castle in Hamlet on. I hope you enjoy our pictures with our wonderful new camera!

My friend, Rachel and I went to Hamburg, Germany on a road trip this weekend. We had a blast. Here are just a few pictures from our trip.

Hej Matematik

On Friday night we went to Tivoli. Tivoli is the oldest Amusement Park in the world. We have year passes to Tivoli that allow us to have free entry all the time. A perk to this is they have a concert every Friday night. A Danish Band, Hej Matematik, was playing this Friday. Justin and I get a kick out of their music video's.

Our Saturday set up!

We can't watch games on T.V. here in DK. So, we have to hook up the computer to the T.V. and watch the games over the internet.

All I can say is atleast we can watch the games... even like this :)
